How many times have you said “I’m afraid to put myself out there…”?
If you’re anything like me (a sensitive introvert) maybe a few more than 10 times?
First – my empathy. Oh yes, I know the feeling…!
Have you ever given thought to what’s underneath?
These are often hidden under the surface:
- I’ll be judged
- I’ll be publicly humiliated
- Someone will criticize me
- Someone will argue with my point of view and…
- I’m afraid of conflict
- I’m really private, I don’t want the whole world to know all about me
I used to be absolutely terrified of being visible, or putting “myself out there”. All of it felt wrong and scary. I was a private person and had the biggest resistance to anything that would require me to show up for my business… in-person or online. I thought I’d annoy people if I mentioned my work.
I was a “closet business owner” for so many years. I loved it and did great work… yet so few people knew. I wanted people to find me, yet… I wasn’t prepared to be visible.
Finally, one day it clicked…. “Wait….. that’s not going to work!”
If that feels familiar, I really understand. With every fiber of my introvert-heart.
I hear this challenge from every single one of my sensitive introvert clients.
You also probably know that if you’re not visible in some shape or form, the chances of someone finding you
and your work are pretty slim. There’s a “noisy” world out there these days… and hiding is not helping
you to be found.
How would it be, though, if you could show up even 30% more while calming the fear and skillfully managing it?
What would it mean to your business, your income, your sanity, and the people you’re meant to serve?
I am intimately familiar with this challenge.
And also passionately determined to help more introverts step into their beautiful abilities,
so they can make the difference they came here to make.
How to get past Visibility Fear
Read an article here with a client’s story, and a few tips. You’ll notice one of the tips is EFT. That is the most effective method I know of, to ease visibility fear.
I offer small group classes, as well as private work to help sensitive introverts to get past this fear. It’s more than possible! 13 years of experience as an Advanced Accredited EFT practitioner tells me that.
We’ll use EFT to calm the amygdala… that part of your brain that checks between 12 – 100 times per second whether you’re safe. Without safety, your limbic brain will simply stop you in your tracks.
